The Best Morning and
Night time Skin Care Routines

Your skin has different needs in the morning and night. "In the morning, your skin will try to protect itself from all the aaggressors such as sun, heat, pollution and dirt—all of which can damage the skin and lead to premature ageing. So, in the morning, we give the skin "tools", active ingredients, to help your skin protect itself from the sun and the oxidative stress," says our skin expert Liv Portugal. "At night, you will repair all the damage, and you need to help your skin after all it went through during the day. It needs hydration, nourishment and repair," says Liv.

It's a quick, easy and super effective bossa skincare routine designed by Dermal Therapist Liv Portugal.

 

Step #1 Cleanse

Cleanse with just a splash of water in the morning and pat dry with a clean towel. You don't need to use a cleanser in the morning because your skin worked hard to repair itself during your sleep, and you don't want to remove all this good work with a cleanser. However, if you have oily and acne-prone skin, I recommend cleansing with Balancing Gel Cleanser or Clear Gel Cleanser to cleanse the bacteria and excess of sebum. 

Step #2 Beauty Water Mist

Beauty Water Mist boosts hydration and antioxidant protection and primes your skin to serums and makeup. Spray the Beauty Water Mist onto the skin and pat with your fingers. You can also use as a make up set spray, and thought the day for a antioxidant boost and to refresh your skin. It is my favourite product for summer, and it is a must have in my beach bag alongside with SPF. 

Step #3 Antiox Eye Gel

Our Antiox Eye Gel will  soothe and moisturise the delicate eye area, and the antioxidant powers of Green Tea and cafeine will help reducing dark circles.

Using the tips of two of your fingers, pat it underneath your eyes and across top of the brow, gently dabbing your eyelids.

Step #4 Hydraboost B Serum

Hydraboost B serum is a water-based serum and will come before the Vitamin C15 serum in your morning routine. This serum will deeply hydrate your skin, while the niacinamide will help reduce oil production and inflammation and inhibit melanin production. 

Apply a few drops on your hands and using your fingertips, pat serum onto the face, neck and décolletage then smooth it outward.

Step #5 Vitamin C15 Serum

Vitamin C15 serum will protect your skin from environmental aggressors and oxidative stress while reducing signs of ageing and hyperpigmentation. This step is never to be skipped!! 
Apply a few drops on your hands and using your fingertips, pat serum onto the face, neck and décolletage then smooth it outward.

Step #6 Protect

Apply the Tinted Moisturiser Mineral SPF30 on your face, neck and décolletage.

Step #1 Double Cleanse

In the evening, it is vital to double cleanse your skin. Double cleansing will ensure you remove makeup, dirt and sebum that sits deep in your pores. I love using the Ipanema Glow Face Oil to remove make-up.

#1 Apply a few drops of Ipanema Glow Face Oil and massage your face. Remove with a damp cotton round, with warm water.
#2 Apply a pump of the cleanser on your hand and add warm water.
- No fancy tools are needed; use your fingers.
- Rub cleanser in big circles on your cheeks.
- Make semi-circles on the sides of your nose and big circles up and out across your forehead.
- Rinse, then splash with cold water.
- Pat dry with a Clean Towel.

For oily and acne-prone skin, cleanse with Balancing Gel Cleanser or Clear Gel Cleanser.

For Normal, Sensitive and Dry skin, wash with Hydrating Cream Cleanser.

Step #2 Weekly Exfoliation

Use the Botanical Gentle Exfoliating Cream 1 or 2 times a week.

- Use room-temperature water.

- Rub product in small, tight circles.

- Focus on areas like your nose and chin, and give more sensitive areas—like the apples of your cheeks—less attention.

- For oily skin, leave the products on for 3-5 minutes.

- Rinse, and gently pat dry. Mild tingle and redness is normal.

Step #3 Beauty Water

Spray the Beauty Water Mist onto the skin and pat with your fingers.

Step #4 Antiox Eye Gel

At night, the Antiox Eye Gel will help repair and nourish your eye skin, prevent ageing.

Using the tips of two of your fingers, pat it underneath your eyes and across top of the brow, gently dabbing your eyelids.

Step #5 Retinol+ Serum

Our Retinol+ serum contains 0.4% encapsulated Retinol and is enriched with powerful Australian Botanicals ingredients to regenerate, repair your cells and improve your skin overnight. 

Apply a few drops on your hands and using your fingertips, pat serum onto the face, neck and décolletage then smooth it outward.

Step #6 Hydrate

Dry - Sensitive Skin use Moisturising Cream

Oily - Combination and Acne prone Skin use Hydrating Lotion or Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser

Glide and smooth moisturiser onto your skin, gently massaging it into the surface with firmer pressure than you used to apply serum. Putting your hands in a prayer position, move from the middle of your face outward, gliding from your nose out to your ears, your forehead out to your temples, and your chin out to your jawline with your fingertips.

If you would like a hydrating and anti-ageing boost, apply the Ipanema Glow Face Oil on your hands and using your fingertips, pat oil onto the face, neck and décolletage then smooth it outward.
